Jim and Chris Edlund Co-chairs and Founders of the Danville d Elegance, also owners of Christe James Fine Jewelry Works in Danville Ca. With an extensive history of Parkinson's disease in the Edlund family we have chosen to make this our primary philanthropic focus. We are committed to funding research and patient care for the Parkinson's Institute in Sunnyvale Ca. Jim serves as a Board Member at the Parkinson's Institute, and Chris serves as a Board member of the Chamber of Commerce, Danville. We are both committed to our community and this cause.
Robert Canepa Co-Founder and Co-Chair of Danville d'Elegance. Parkinson's Disease stole the last 5 years of my Fathers life. It slowly took his body from him and left his mind to witness the effects of this terrible disease. I join all of you in this worthy fight to stop PD, in memory of my Dad, a true "Car Guy".
Bill Bauernfeind Bill has been involved with the Danville d'Elegance since 2006 and enjoys many aspects of motorsports. Bill is also involved in supporting refugee children assimilate in school and work towards mastering reading and writing skills as they transition in the new environment.
Kathy Cole Kathy has been a part of the Danville d'Elegance effort since its first year. Working with companies that strive to find a cure for diseases such as Parkinson's, Kathy is committed to making her own contribution by volunteering on this fundraising effort.
Jackie George Jackie lives in San Ramon with her husband Peter. I watched my father finally give up the fight to Parkinson's after many years of suffering. I vowed to help my father by helping others. Contributing with the hope that my contribution will bridge the gap, bringing us closer to a cure for this insidious disease.
Amelia Tess Thornton Amelia has been involved with Danville d'Elegance for four years and a member of the Committee since 2006. Amelia watched her grandmother succumb to Parkinsons back in the days where treatment options still included performing lobotomies, and has close family and friends who are currently fighting the disease, one of whom has directly benefited from the research of The Parkinsons Institute. She is also President and owner of The Thornton Group, Inc.
Carol Bickett In addition to her work on the Danville d'Elegance Committee, she is a Susan G. Komen For the Cure committee member. In 2007 Carol Ann received the Susan G. Komen for the Cure and BMW of North America, LLC "Honorable Supporter of Breast Cancer Awareness" award. Carol Ann volunteers on both of these fund raisers as each of these diseases has negatively impacted her family. "I had no idea how significantly Parkinson's would impact us all. It is a progressively debilitating disease that knows no bounds. I'm involved to help raise awareness and donations to help find a cure, for the Parkinson's Institute."
Robin Halloran A long time area resident and former local teacher, she is involved with many community events. Formerly engaged with the American Cancer Society events other non-profit groups, she actively participates in the Junior League of Oakland-East Bay, is an AAUW member, along with her participation with Danville d'Elegance.
Kellie Hayes Kellie has been on the committee since 2003. As a previous staff member of The Parkinson's Institute she assisted the committee in planning and organizing the event. Since her departure from the Institute she remains on the committee because of the dedication and commitment of the Edlunds and committee members in the fight to find a cure for Parkinson's disease.
Ellen Miller Currently serves as a volunteer with the Blackhawk Museum Guild, Childrens Hospital Oakland - Rowan Branch and Danville d'elegance. "My husband Bruce and I are definitely car people. We enjoy our association with the Ferrari Club of Northern CA and various vintage racing associations. We are just as passionate about volunteerism.
David Watson A car enthusiast driven by his father's interests dating back to the early days of the Pebble Beach Concours, David is passionate about his family and varying cars of his own. David is also President and owner of Professional Automotive, Collision, Auto Body and Detail in Lafayette. He also shares in the pursuit of a cure for this deadly disease that has effected so many, including his family and friends.
Scott Shockney Scott is a true car guy, having worked for several different auto manufacturers and dealers. He is an active volunteer for the East Bay S.P.C.A. as an animal foster parent. He is a martial arts instructor with over 18 years experience. He brings his internet search marketing experience and automotive background to Danville d'Elegance.
